This photo has special meaning to me. It was taken Feb 4, 2016 just a few weeks after Ky’s accident in Mexico which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. We give thanks to God for his recovery and thanks to family and friends for prayers and support.
As Ky and I were hiking in the same mountains the other day just a short 10 months later, I stopped and turned around and looked at the view in the direction from where we had just come. I commented to him that the view of what we see when we look backwards is so very different than what we see on the way forward. It was a totally different panorama than what I noticed as we were walking forward. We could see the immediate area, but we could also see far into the distance to an area where our eyes had not been drawn as we were walking forward.
As we end 2016 and look forward to 2017, I am excited about all we will have the opportunity to see and experience. It’s a big world that we live in, and we only ever have an opportunity to see such a very small part of it. I don’t want to dwell in the past, but I do want to make sure that this year I take time to look all around – not just forward. There’s a lot to see in every direction!
Blessings and love to you dear family and friends, and I pray the age old Irish blessing for you all,
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
